Location: Gram Panchayat - Uchay Rikholi, Nainital District, Uttarakhand In the serene hills of Uttarakhand, farming has been the cornerstone of rural life. However, for many farmers like Sher Singh Bohra from Gram Rikholi in Nainital, traditional farming practices combined with erratic weather patterns and limited resources made survival a constant struggle. Yet, today, Sher Singh's journey stands as a beacon of transformation and success—thanks to the power of Integrated Farming, supported by the Integrated Livelihood Support Project (ILSP).

In the serene village of Khatyari, nestled in the heart of Almora, an inspiring story of empowerment, resilience, and transformation is unfolding. The Shakti Self-Help Group, formed on December 22, 2019, under the guidance of NABARD and with implementation support from Gramin Samaj Kalyan Samiti (GRASS), has become a beacon of hope for rural women. What began with just 11 women has now evolved into a symbol of strength and inspiration, not just for Almora, but for the surrounding communities as well.

Among them, Ganga Devi stands as a shining example of perseverance and empowerment. Once burdened by financial struggles, she has transformed her life and the lives of others in her village through the power of goat farming. Her journey proves that with the right support, determination, and community backing, financial independence is achievable—even in the most challenging of circumstances.
